Key Legal Conditions for the Legal Employment of Foreigners:

1. Obtaining a work permit for foreign citizens.

A Ukrainian employer is required to obtain a work permit for a foreign employee through the relevant employment center.

2. Concluding an employment contract.

After obtaining the permit, the employer concludes an official employment contract with the foreigner.

3. Temporary residence in Ukraine.

Based on the work permit, the foreigner has the right to obtain a temporary residence permit in Ukraine.

4. Compliance with labor and tax legislation.

The employer ensures:

  • official wage payment;

  • payment of taxes and unified social contribution (USC);

  • proper working conditions;

  • HR and migration tracking of the employee.

5. Employment periods.

A work permit for foreign citizens can be issued for a period of up to 3 years (depending on the category of employee) with the possibility of extension.
